Cold die steels have great resistance, comprehensive strength, high stresses and good toughness. The forming of cold steel die is done in many different application like shearing, punching, cold forging, drawing, rolling etc. High mechanical forces sliding contact is required in all applications. The sliding happens in between tool surface and the work material.
There is the various process for analyzing damaged tools by which new steel grades can be developed. In the market, there is an always requirement of superior hardness of tools to provide a wear resistance and resistance to plastic deformation. Improvement of wear resistance is done by cold work steel grades. We have to always consider special steels and metals which will give you high-quality tool steels covering your demand.
Cold working is a process in which deformation is carried out in a temperature region and over a time interval such that strain hardening cannot relieve. In this process, additional dislocations within the metal structures are produced. As the work process is going on the movement of dislocations becomes more difficult for which the metal becomes less malleable and ductile. Only ductile metals are shaped through cold working.
The cold working process includes various methods like cold rolling, drawing, deep drawing and pressing. The tool steel has many uses in forging Industry.
We are choosing cold work process for good dimensional control, the good surface finish of the component, increased strength and hardness of the metal.
